Wyoming rancher Patricia Frolander's previous work Married into It received many prestigious awards, including a Western Heritage Center Wrangler Award and a Women Writing the West WILLA Award. After a period of loss and adjustment, Frolander "embraces a second wind" in these poems of validation and renewal, shown through community, family, nature, and ranch life. Frolander once again is able to capture on paper the essence of Wyoming ranch life. These 61 elegantly crafted poems, divided into three sections Old Pasture, Drought, and Fresh Grass, take us through the seasons of her life on a working ranch.
