There are those who will forever fight wars of resistance, culminating in death and decay. Others, however, gain a victory by learning the lessons life throw at them. Sea of Crass is a true story of William W. Crossman who spent eighteen-plus years in three penitentiaries and more than twenty county jails across the country. That he was a troubled youth or that he became a convict and notorious fugitive is not what makes this story unique. That he feared, resisted, and ran from his trouble and authority is not what begs our attention. What makes this story truly unique and worthy of our attention is that Crossman diligently sought a way to cross his sea of crass and found the ultimate authority of his life.
