What happens when a Fireman and a Chef get together?
Throw in an arsonist, a jealous ex-boyfriend, a rival chef out to ruin her, and well-meaning friends.
Things don't just get hot-they get Scorched.
Madeline:
My best friend wants to set me up with a man she thinks will be perfect for me. The problem is, I know I suck at relationships. My last few relationships were disasters, like a delicate crème brûlée under a powerful blowtorch set on high with a first-year sous chef. Plus, there is something different I want to try. But it's not something I can tell her about. And I'm busy. As head Chef at a restaurant I own, I put in at least sixty hours a week to make it successful, which makes me too busy for a relationship. I will keep my options open, but this new thing, anonymous sex outside of a relationship, is what I want to try now. I'm not sure how I can hold her off from introducing us, though. And I don't want to hurt her feelings.
Butch:
I have a secret. And it's not that my family has money, which most don't know either because I work for a living. I'm a lieutenant with the fire department, a career I love. But I also am part owner of a sex club with my brother. None of my friends know about it. It's my little secret. My good friend and his wife want to set me up with a friend of hers, a chef. By all accounts, she is busier than I am. That sounds like a recipe for disaster. Two busy people trying to find time for each other. And my sexual appetite is very specific. Most women will not do, most women are not open to the lifestyle I crave. But I haven't had a woman in my life for nearly a year, since the woman I thought I was in love with put a pick ax through my heart. But I committed to my brother, and he is calling me on it. I have to get back in the game, if I want to or not.
