Beskrivelse
Social Work and Mental Health have attempted to deal with spirituality in the past, but it is usually looked at from a Judeo-Christian perspective or from religions that have obtained legitimacy within our society.
When they attempt to deal with New Age practices it is covered in a multicultural or diversity class, with very little if any time spent on other forms of worship that take place within our mainstream society. In today's world, we have witnessed an upswing in people searching for life's meaning and purpose.
Within the traditional Christian religions, we have seen a decline in the number of followers, with more and more individuals seeking an alternative. Or at times the traditional religion is practiced alongside New Age, with neither the Church nor mental health providers knowing or having little awareness about it.
The aim of this book is to provide context, awareness, and future action on mental health.
