Sarah, a blonde, blue-eyed, dyslexic angel arrives on Earth from The Heavenlies for her first mission. She is to find a mate for wealthy, handsome, Tom Shoemaker by Valentine's Day. Merciful Heavens! Time is short! Can a novice angel succeed in a mere six weeks?

A chaotic Sarah blunders through the Texas Hill Country, Austin, and Houston. With no sense of direction, she is often lost and arrives late. Sarah creates havoc in outlandish red stilettos as she assumes human disguises.

When Sarah accidentally dumps food on Tom in a restaurant, Tom meets Marcy Montgomery. Tom is attracted to the young widow, but is Marcy the right mate for Tom? Marcy's husband was killed while serving his country, and Marcy needs a companion, but the Superiors certainly wouldn't approve of a romantic link between the wrong people. Marcy's five-year-old daughter, Hope wants a father, and when Tom and Hope meet, Sarah immediately decides he is the perfect candidate, and she sets about to bring the two together.
