In 1606 Santa Rosa del Peru wore the habit of Third Dominica and retreated to a cabin. Her adoration of her lord was such as to effect her entire being while she prayed. She lived a life of deep religious devotion and endured a great deal of sickness and suffering. Some believe her ailments were supernatural. She died young, never having lost her faith.
