Dr. Carl "Sandy" Dann, III, born in 1932 in Orlando, Florida, recalls stories passed down from his family. One grandfather was a pioneer-family Florida Cracker who became a prominent developer. His other grandfather moved to Orlando with an education and wealth. He also developed in Central Florida. Both conflicting ways of life influenced Sandy and impacted the vast expansion of Orlando.
