Beskrivelse

Samuel Owens had the misfortune of being born with the facial resemblance of a pig. He was gawked at, made fun of and tormented. Raised on a pig farm in South Portland, Maine, Samuel quits school in the seventh grade. The farm is sold and his father makes arrangements for him to join the Army. A mix up at the recruiting station has Samuel enlisting in the Navy. At sea, aboard the USS Melvin A. Gunter DD329, Samuel saves the lives of the crew and the ship from destruction. Seriously injured he receives medical care and is discharged from the Naval Hospital in Newport, RI. Settling into an apartment on Franklin Street, his landlord assists Samuel in gaining employment with the Newport Historical Association. Irritability between Samuel and his supervisor is immediate and continuous. Nicole's chaotic behavior pushes Samuel to a state of madness, resulting in her becoming the victim of his insanity.
