Beskrivelse
Coming of age for a teen boy is an adventure in its own right, but for young Jamey Hart, it's much, much, more. He is declared lively by his mother, and his adventures prove it, often placing his very life in danger, and needing the help of angels. It's a wet blanket on his social life, as he moves from town to town for his dad to follow construction work. When there is no work, his family is forced into his grandmothers vacant farm house. Things really turn sour when his dad deserts the family. Jamey is accustomed to poor, but now it has a brand new meaning. Then when his mother seeks a new mate, he gets a close up look at revenge. He finds a friend and mentor in retired missionary, Miss Lucy Barnes, but unfortunately she dies unexpectedly. He finds romance, but it's only temporary, because he just doesn't understand girls. He really is Runnin' On Empty. Set in the rural south of 1960. First book of The Jamey Hart Ghost Adventure Series.
