Just how much importance does hair have in the black community? Just over 9 billion dollars worth of importance, at last count! But even beyond the dollar figures, hair has even greater power and influence in our community because it speaks. Hair is the central theme in this anthology book which includes forty-five original short essays- all from the point of view of students across the country. Journey with them as they share their hair struggles, hair triumphs and hair love in this collection. Essays featured in this collection were finalist submissions in The Science of Black Hair scholarship program. All proceeds from the sale of this book go to future awards under this scholarship program.
