Roger Meets Sam

This easy to read picture book is intended for young children ages 4-7. Roger is a baby elephant who lives in a zoo. He is lonely because he is the only elephant. He makes attempts to reach out to play with the people at the zoo without success. Then he meets a spider named Sam and asks the spider to play with him. Sam agrees. Now the only problem is finding something that they can play together. After Roger and Sam think about all the usual children's games which don't work for them, Sam comes up with a new game.
