Beskrivelse
A novella of intrigue set amid the uniqueness of Newfoundland and its people, indomitable, ordinary, fierce. With accents in a curving dialect from an older time preserved by isolation, the inhabitants wrestle with the present and its debaucheries. This is a story of two men looking for themselves, traversing the island's raw landscape and skirting the deep blue sea. Both ex-military, now railway men in the bustling port of Thunder Bay, they answer the call to Come Home. This annual celebration on the island invites all Newfoundlanders to return to reconnect with their family and community roots. But what awaits - old flames, new attachments, a shot at redemption for past sins? Or is it the depravity of drug addiction and wasted youth, the joy of life ripped from them. In a brush with the island's drug underworld, and with the raw gift of being in the present, they struggle to find the source.
