The author’s passion for poetry genre of writing emanated from his love for short stories and drama. Inspired by O Henry in his 100 short stories collection, the author’s need to manage time during busy schedules, his love for English expressions encoded in various genres of writings, his love for silent places, acts of loneliness, little verbal communication; the author discovered poetry as the best way to record his memories and experiences as a special kind of diary.

As time moves on over the decade, 2011 – 2021, the zeal to express rises above self into nature and society. In this respect, ‘Rhythms of the Heart’ is a selfless piece of 100 collected poems by Vkings; pregnant with not just self, but love and compassion, ills and society, love and intimacy, mother earth and nature, mother and family, war and sacrifice, hope and despair, African poetry and covid19 poems.
