There is something enticing about the American West. We can all imagine the cowboys of days gone by riding across the plains on their beloved horses.
Larry Moran has the same feelings about the Wild West, and he starts off his collection with a section on cowboys. His poems evoke a sense of whimsy and can be outright laugh-out-loud funny. After poems about the bond between a cowboy and horse, poker games, and tough guys, Moran transitions to other sections that include musings on wilderness and nature, family, love, childhood, golf, hope and fate, independence, hard work, and war.
In addition to humorous themes, Moran includes several sections of love poems. He has written love poems for over fifty-four years, and he beautifully expresses sentiments many readers will share.
Moran recalls falling in love with poetry after high school. As a young journalist, he wanted to read more, and the poetry of Wordsworth, Service, Poe, and Shakespeare (can't forget him ) caught his eye. He later diversified into great Western poets and worked on creating his own style and rhythm. The result is an intriguing and insightful collection that will inspire readers.
