Beskrivelse
Revisiting Florida's Geology presents a compilation of the state's early geologic history during the Paleozoic and Mesozoic Eras including a discussion of geologic formations, structural, and tectonic processes forming the early basement complex. The Cenozoic history is presented in the context of the uppermost limestone and sedimentary rock formations. The various types of landscapes are presented using selected county geologic maps to demonstrate which formations are responsible for flat lands, gently to moderately sloping hills, steep hills, valleys, and karstic features. The book contains 294 drawings and photographs which help guide the reader through the text. Text is presented in a nontechnical format using geological terms where appropriate. The book is intended for secondary, community college, and first or second year undergraduate study of Florida Geology. It is also intended for those possessing a passing interest in the state's geology.
