Return to the Altar is the story of a family's loss, a death of a son, and how it transformed their view of the world. James Thomas Hartings was given a fatal diagnosis at 21 weeks gestation while still in the womb and his mother, Lynn Hartings, chose to carry him full term. It chronicles the grief, pain and joy of the journey that Lynn and Ben Hartings shared with their son James. The story begins at an Altar, in a red brick, gothic church in a small western Ohio farm town, through marriage and eventually the celebration of family. What brought the family back to the small farm town, back to the Altar, was not an experience that was expected, but one that was accepted as God's plan. And it changed their lives forever. This book helps those who have gone through the dance between grief and joy.
