The economic miracle, the summer exoduses, the mini skirts, the washing machine. Is there a more celebrated period, looked at with nostalgia and envy, than the 60s? For Americans, a lost paradise in which everything was optimism, trust, desire to do, after having left behind the ancient miseries. In the kitchen there was a rush to purchase foods that were once considered "rich" and had become mass-produced, celebrated by the new television and now within everyone's reach thanks to the first supermarkets. The boom in the consumption of beef - always a symbol of well-being, until a few years earlier. But there is also the flip side of the coin: the "old" homemade foods begin to be seen with contempt and to be sacrificed on the altar of packaged and industrialized food, a trend that will become radicalized in the 70s. But let's see which ones they are the symbolic dishes of the 60s.
