Authors Hameen Shabazz and Delores Shabazz created the re-entry 'blueprint" in their book titled "Reshaping Re-entry in the 21st Century: A Critical Analysis". In this book, the authors provide an accumulation of theory and research whereby they explain the aspects of re-entry on the Micro, Macro, and Mezzo levels. The authors provide an overview of recidivism, including defining mass incarceration and highlighting the classic collateral consequences that directly connect with re-entry and success.
