Rachael can hardly believe her eyes. It's their first wedding anniversary and her husband is gone!Four long years go by as she tries to make sense of his drastic decision to swear off the plain life and become an Englisch. Now her mother is making hints in the neighbor's direction, a decent enough bachelor, but not someone that Rachael feels any affection for. Besides, even though she would never admit it, she secretly hopes that one day, Michael will find his way home.
Michael Peachey is disillusioned and unhappy. He thought that saying goodbye to his Amish roots would be the answer to his problems. He was just not cut out for the strict and sometimes suffocating rules and regulations. But four years in New York City have shown him that's not quite true. He can't get used to the shifting sands of secular life, either. He longs for the security of moral boundaries and rock solid beliefs. Most of all, he is missing his wife, Rachael. In fact, he never stopped loving her.
When Michael returns to his hometown to cast himself on the mercy of the bishop and the elders, as well as the rest of the community, both he and Rachael have to search deep within themselves to find the truth about their future.
Can Rachael forgive her husband's cruel and senseless abandonment? Can Michael win back the heart of the woman he wounded so deeply? Will the once happy couple recapture their lost love?
Find out now in this sweet Amish romance about repentance and forgiveness.
