A young woman is found by fishermen washed up on a beach with a serious head injury. She has no identity and no memory of her past. However, during her convalescence where she decides to go by the name Melissa, a disturbing incident causes her to fear for her safety. She flees to the country to begin her life afresh. There she meets a humble farmer, Daniel O'Connor, and is quickly absorbed into his family. Just when Melissa's life is settled and showing promise of a wonderful future, her past comes back to haunt her. Danger swiftly closes in.
