This is the story of a young Indian girl destined to be a doctor, who comes to UK soon after graduation in 1951 and gets medical training here. But she passes through a great hurdle to get registration, before being allowed to work.Once at work, her contribution is tremendous and praiseworthy, combining professional with married life, which was not easy. She worked in the NHS for more than three decades and saw constant changes over the years. Her experiences as a doctor, and now as a patient in her nineties throw light on the past, present and future of the NHS.
