Betrayed, held in virtual captivity and his identity destroyed by the CIA after escaping Vietnam, Roland Valente accepts a hazardous mission to Lahore, Pakistan, to spy on World class Nuclear Physicist, Doctor Usman Ishmael. Roland wants to use the assignment to escape to the United States for a reunion with his long-lost wife, Lydia. His urgency is amplified by his advancing tuberculosis.

The CIA has implanted a microchip in his head so any attempt to escape will be intercepted and short circuited. They also limit his ability to travel by giving him a phony passport.

Meanwhile, Lydia is raising Roland's son and praying for his return.

On a stopover in Bombay, Roland befriends Raj, a Koli fisherman. He sees the fisherman as a passport to his freedom.

In a quirk of fate, Roland meets the Professor and saves him from death by a USA agent. He becomes a confidant of the professor and learns that the Professor has mastered stealth technology via a secret algorithm. Roland cannot leave the professor alive, or the Western world will be destroyed.

The Professor's son Akbar. a General in the Pakistani Army, distrusts Roland and wants to kill him.

Roland's moral dilemma intensifies when he learns he has a son.

Lydia is lied to by the CIA who tells her that Roland is dead. She believes her relentless love and loyalty are in vain.

Aided by a newly married British couple, the Lanhams, Roland assassinates the Professor. His escape is cleverly plotted and executed, while hiding in plain sight. The Professor's son Akbar pursues Roland, hell bent on revenge.
