Beskrivelse
"Regeneration" is the first book in Pat Barker’s powerful and Booker Prize-winning Regeneration trilogy about the human traumas of First World War.
In Pat Barker’s "Regeneration" we follow the army psychiatrist William Rivers, who works at the Craiglockhart War Hospital in Scotland, 1917. He treats the shell-shocked soldiers including the poets Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen as well as the mute Billy Prior, who only communicates by paper and pencil. William Rivers’ function is to make these young men mentally stable and ready to fight again. But the more he learns about their deep traumas and damaged minds the more he wants to protect them for war of horrors.
