This volume documents and comments on selected articles that have appeared in Pädagogische Korrespondenz since 1987. The articles illustrate how the journal has taken up efforts to further develop pedagogy and overcome its weaknesses over the last 35 years and made them the subject of criticism. From structural reforms and marketization to didactics and teacher training this volume provides insights into the discussions of these topics in the context of the education system in the Federal Republic of Germany.
