During a romantic evening at home, Kerry's life turns upside down as he is whisked away into a dystopic future where Philadelphia lies in ruins.

He first encounters a man who calls himself Cy. After Cy takes him to meet Kerry's longtime friend Harley, he begins to hatch a strategy to return home to Becky. But when Kerry stumbles onto his wife's remains in an abandoned industrial building, his plans change.

Because their dimensions are intertwined, Kerry must travel to the underworld, a dark kingdom impossible to escape, to rescue Becky and bring her home. During the journey he must discover the truth of his origin and the real reason for Cy's assistance while encountering an array of monsters determined to destroy and imprison him forever. Returning home requires a series of choices that threaten Kerry's reality.
