Red Earth Sky Book Cover Description Red Earth Sky is the third novel in the "People of the Stone" saga, which began with The Stone Breakers and Voices Upon the Wind, detailing the peopling of native North America, from their controversial Ice Age origins to the coming of the first Europeans. This story takes places several thousand years after the compelling events of the first two novels, when the descendants of those ice age wanderers have established new, more permanent lives along the rivers in the great heartland of America. It is a time of the beginnings of new social arrangements, tribal groups, and the emergence of many more specialized and complex behaviors which threaten the old ways the people have clung to for countless generations.
