Recipes for Life

This Psalm, a prayer of one who delights in and lives by God's Word, is an acrostic broken down into 22 sections, blocked by the letters of the Hebrew alphabet. This devotional book breaks the 22 sections down into recipes for life made from easy steps to follow, using the ingredients listed on page viii. Follow the recipes, stirring them into your life, and God's perfect plan will be the result. We all hunger for true peace and contentment, yet look for it in all the wrong places; materialism, arts, television, etc. Nothing can satisfy the soul and bring true peace but the Spirit of God. This peace is described in Philippians 4:7 as that which passes understanding. It is indescribable, but oh so wonderful. The purpose of this devotional is to create a hunger and thirst within the reader for the Word of God, bringing him or her into a closer relationship with God. God's Word brings great freedom to those who love it and desire to live their lives in obedience to it. It is through obedience that we find true freedom and true peace. My prayer is that the devotions in this book will create a desire in the heart of each reader to study God's Word more, developing a wonderful relationship with God through His Word. Then, they too can say with the Psalmist, "Oh, how I love thy law It is my meditation all the day." Psalm 119:97
