Isatin (1H-indole-2,3-dione) and its derivatives occupy a unique place in medicinal chemistry due to their various types of biological and pharmacological activities such as antitumor, antiviral, antimicrobial, anti-tuberculosis and inhibitor of enzymes. Therefore, the main objective of this book is to display the chemistry and applications of isatin in organic synthesis as well as its biological activities.
