Beskrivelse

Xanshere wakes in the bed she shares with Sylvia early in the morning to find their covers tossed to the floor and their room ramshackle. After further investigation, she finds their home has been searched to some avail. Dressing, she follows the path of their intruder to find a servant of Amhoure Pleasance, more specifically her uncle Lord Ithladora Lionheart. Their conversation is short and sweet, getting to the point. Lord Lionheart requires she and her cousins to return home so that he can pass the mantle to Thom, his next in line. Learning the mysterious figure was searching for a magical gem, she assures him she hasn't possession of one. A final glimpse of the cloaked figure shows her he is not of the Elves but a Chancling.

With the circumstances under question, she seeks out Sylvia and tells her of the coming travel. They together seek out the romantic siblings in the wall tower where they are held up with nothing else to do. By the end of the day, they are braving the threatening Mage Winter with an eastern course. They meet an unwelcome foe along the way and undertake a side quest before pending death steers them back on course. At opposite ends of a long-held war, Thom and Xanshere devise means of dealing with very different curses.

Back in Heroems, Xanshere seeks help with unwilling company and learns of a favored Omni falling from her throne as well as an old prophecy related to an even older bloodline. Paths part as allies go separate ways, deep delving tests prove fruitful, and love proves its backbone. Secrets come to light as the face of Gavenstein is removed from the shadows.
