During the savage air war against the Japanese in New Guinea, a US plane goes down. In 1949 the son of that fighter pilot, an accountant named Harry Palmer, launches an expedition to recover his father's remains. Accompanying him is his beautiful and strong-willed young wife, Mary. They enlist the help of the local patrol officer, John Godson, and legendary crocodile hunter, Tom Cole. Little do any of them know the ancient and terrifying force they are about to unleash as they near the forbidden valley.
