Book Overview: Quick Explanation on What Black Parents Need to Know About Trauma and Shared Custody was written for African American parents to gain understanding of what is defined as trauma, and how it affects parenting of your children and sharing custody. This book was written to support the cultural needs of the African American community as we have faced years of generational and historical trauma, community injustice, and ongoing acts of community and relationship violence. Black parents to heal themselves so that shared parenting responsibilities can be healthy and not negatively impact children's health and well-being.
