Quest of the Magos Staff: Part 1

The staff whirled, gold and purple lightning sparking from its tip. The shadows dancing around it shrieked and vanished into thin air as the lightning touched them.

A menacing laugh filled the twilight, thundering down the valley as a column of green and black fire descended like a wraith intending to devour the world. Everything on its path was zapped of life. The mage straightened and stared defiantly at the destruction coming for him. He lifted his staff, emitted a battle cry, and was engulfed in blue flames.

The two energy forces collided with a deafening bang. When the dust settled, a crater was the only thing that remain where the mage stood seconds before. There was no trace of the malevolent being, or it's courageous opponent.

"Aldoron, sir?" A tiny voice broke the silence of the falling night. But there was no answer.
