The Cameron team is facing its largest mission scope to date.
Queen Elizabeth I is thirteen years into a reign that is fraught with danger. Set about on all sides by plots to remove her from the throne, she has so far survived them all...until now.
The Camerons arrive as the Ridolfi plot is in full swing, and while history has it as a failure, this time the plotters will find success unless the team manages to discover the reason and prevent it. With so many players, Euan and Grace must put all of their skills to work to infiltrate the ring of traitors, but it takes its toll as Euan is forced to be everything he hates.
The longer the mission goes on, the more the lines of his reality begin to blur, with his actions putting Grace in grave peril even as she fights to keep him and the mission on the right track.
At home, the relationship between Vanessa and Drew Fraser continues to deepen, and it becomes clear to everyone that it isn't a matter of if he is brought in on their secret...but when.
