Beskrivelse
This book was inspired by the mini lessons that my bride, Rosemary, and I taught to couples over the years of our pastoral work. Every lesson presented in this book has been tested and proven. For example, we have witnessed couples on the brink of divorce due to marital issues. One couple had already received their divorce papers and had decided to end their marriage after ten years. However, when we began teaching them about marriage priorities, they changed their hearts and have now happily been married for over 35 years. Much of what we discuss in this book addresses the spiritual pitfalls and traps challenging every marriage committed to honoring God in their covenant relationship. All the lessons we teach are considered life-changing conversations. In Chapter 1, we discuss God's design for two people in a covenantal relationship, outlining His model for marriage, accountability, and the commitment required for a successful marriage. Chapter 2 encourages couples to learn about their spouses and pay attention to important details, emphasizing the importance of continued learning as the marriage progresses-chapter 3 challenges married couples to stay connected and not take their marriage for granted. Chapter 4 outlines the responsibilities of each spouse within the marriage structure, emphasizing the importance of sharing household chores. Chapter 5, titled 'Feeding a Hungry Marriage,' compares marriage to a fine meal, stressing the need for balance and proper sequencing of different aspects of the relationship. Chapter 6 discusses the roles of husbands and wives in marriage, emphasizing the husband's role as the head of the household. Chapter 7 addresses the impact of disagreements, treatment, and trust on a marriage. Chapter 8 challenges couples to assess their progress and revisit their love for each other. Chapter 9 encourages couples to set their marriage in the right direction and commit authentically. Chapter 10 discusses the importance of maintaining a marriage and being intentional in acts of kindness. The final chapter emphasizes that marriage is the most significant investment and should bring honor and glory to God. It concludes by highlighting the biblical concept of marriage as a lifelong commitment.
