Beskrivelse
Prose Architectures will be published the season after her last collection of poetic essays, Calamities, was released. The success of that book, which has been excerpted in The Paris Review and Harper's prepublication, will draw attention to this new book of a different genre. Calamities is in part about Gladman's work on these prose architectures. She has been guest teaching and speaking at various colleges and universities about her drawings as an extension of her writing. This is Gladman's 10th book and 1st of visual art that is an extension of her previous work. She has a following of fans who know her from her poetry and experimental fiction, as well as her work as the editor and publisher of Leon Works and Leroy. Poet Fred Moten has written an afterword for the book. Prose Architectures is a physically beautiful book and will appeal to buyers of artist books. She is a 2016 grant recipient for her work from the prestigious Foundation for Contemporary Arts.
