Beskrivelse
This book is focused on the challenges, implications and prospects of basic education in the border areas from the perspectives of some stakeholders. This book exposes to the Federal Government of Nigeria the targeted dwellers of Nigerian International border community as another set of disadvantaged groups in the society. Unlike the other disadvantaged groups in the Nigeria society such as the nomads, migrant fishermen, people living with disability of any sort, and al-maijri that the Government makes provision for in the National Policy on Education, International Border dwellers surfer social exclusion which constitute challenges to provision of functional and qualitative basic education to school age children in these communities. This thus nails their educational life chances. Their challenge of basic education in the border communities is unique with particular reference to a situation of 'school without schooling'.
