Potato is the third most important food crop in the world after rice and wheat in terms of human consumption. The book "Potato: Improvement, Production and Utilization Technologies" is based on technologies developed at ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute, Shimla. The book delves about the recent advances in potato improvement, production, protection, and utilization of technologies for doubling the farmers' income. The book covers potato scenario, germplasm strength, varietal development applying conventional and molecular breeding methods, AICRP (potato), tissue culture, biotechnology, genomics, genome editing, diagnostics of potato pathogens and insect-pest management, integrated crop management, soil and plant sample test, impact of climate change, precision agriculture, conventional and hi-tech seed potato production including micropropagation and aeroponics, post-harvest management and potato nutrition, farm mechanization and various other topics related to potato.
