There's a strong dark yet ultimately hopeful vision throughout, because Marcus brings as much knowledge to a chapter about partying with Snoop Dogg ("Gangsta Party") as he does the brilliantly written ("Natural Essence"). It's the equivalent of reading an entire season of your favorite TV series.
