Beskrivelse

In his characteristic style author Terry Unger picks up where he left off in Finding Polaris. He takes a hard look at the Heathen creations myths and the Heathen concepts of the afterlife, in particular Hel and Valhalla or, Valholl. Then the author takes the reader on a journey to discover the origins of Monotheism where a different Jezebel will be introduced, a questionable Moses is considered, and a strange young Egyptian Pharaoh is brought to light. There are driving forces behind Monotheism and when the author feels that his readers comprehend those forces, he takes us back to Heathen sacred spaces like the Donar Oak, the Irminsul, and the 1,100 votive stones of the Matronae. In an effort to point out that the Icelandic conversion of 1000CE was not the end of the road for Heathenry in Europe, the author gives the reader a brief taste of the bloody Baltic Crusades. The Church's efforts at conversion were multifaceted. One of those was the writing of manuals. One such manual, the Indiculus Superstionum et paganiarum is discussed within the pages of POLARIS RISING. The author, as a final entry, gives the reader a short story about a young Saxon growing up in the time before, during, and after The Thirty Year Saxon Wars. Like its predecessor Finding Polaris, POLARIS RISING is meant to be informative and entertaining.
