MISS VIOLET, the science teacher, eagerly searches to stop the pollutants. Katty and Jake spacewalk to squirt gooey gunk to fill in the ozone layer holes. The Earth's air is too hot and sweaty... Scorchio!
Katty is one small girl in a very big world. There are a handful of suspects and a lot more baddies. All aboard the journey of discovery, where nothing is as it seems!
The Earth is overheating; time is running out. Seriously! The ozone layer needs fixing; the Sun is scorching our planet. A mystery story that is not actually a mystery. Get it? Oh, you defo will get it.
After returning from the Amazon rainforest, Katty and Jake join their schoolteacher, Miss Violet in a perilous journey into space to investigate the damage to the ozone layer. Readers get various perspectives including that of pollutants and a couple of nosey aliens. With these elements, the story, like the first, has many aspects that are enjoyed by children in the current market. Again, the biggest strength of the author's writing is the conviction behind how children can be part of shaping a better and greener future. The educational value of the story is clear and therefore could easily be used in schools to teach children the science around the ozone layer, greenhouse gases and global warming.
Overall, it's a fun story about family but also about standing up for the environmental issues you believe in.
