Places in the Heart

After her daughter, Joy, is taken away, Stacie hits rock bottom. She even contemplates suicide, but her plan is foiled when she is mugged in front of a church. That was the moment her life started to change. First Stacie had to admit every one of the shameful mistakes she had made in her life. Things that cost her the daughter she loved. The pastor of the church teachers her about God's grace and forgiveness, until finally Stacie learns to forgive herself. She even reaches the point she begins working with troubled teens. This new work brings her back in touch with Joy, and their encounters are painful, exhausting and nearly her undoing. She begins to wonder if her new found faith will see her through.
