This book is about Change.The motive behind the book was the need for change.The way we can protect the road workers who build better roads for all road users.On the 25th January 2013, 9 days after Suzanne was violently and viciously killed, I sat in my local MP's office requesting change. I said I didn't want to have to come back to his office following another workplace death to find nothing had been done..More road workers in have been killed since that day and a number seriously injured.Some change has happened since then but much more needs to be done.The book was written because of the lack of care by Government departments in the handling of workplace deaths. The book tells the message of how I arrived as a road worker on the Highway in 2013, on a road once described as the Highway from Hell.This tale would not have been complete without telling the journey of how an ex Oil Company executive, Politician, Local Councillor and small business owner, ended up becoming a traffic controller.The story begins with a schoolboy in 1962 facing his first major adversity.
