Buddhism arrived to the Viet peninsula more than 2000 years ago and has since become an integral part of Vietnamese history. This book is for readers interested in learning about a religion and a belief that has greatly influenced the life, literature, and arts of the Viet people. Although Confucianism has been dominant for seven centuries from the Trần dynasty to the Nguyễn dynasty, Buddhism with its profound spirituality has consistently thrived throughout the ups and downs of Vietnamese history.
