Petroleum: A Stage Play

This play is set in a bar in Iraq during the conflict in 2009.

Three American and British press members are having a drink in Ali's Bar after a chaotic day.

There are also two Muslim freedom fighters in the bar, one Shi'ite, one Sunni, having a drink, and one other customer, Morgiana, the wife of a local carpet salesman. "Dave," a stranger, enters the bar and, after some discussion with two of the customers, offers them the opportunity to sell their souls for immortality. This story explores how that proposal plays out.
