Survival is redundant repetition played out as long as possible. Could it be more? The Sovereign continues to live on in ragged and unquestioned survival until something obvious occurs. Technology is possible. Technology survives. He might shape the world with it again if only he found help. A companion. A cosurvivor unable to break from redundancy itself, just as he couldn't. One for whom his solitude might be understood as a vigil, waiting for the right moment to unite them both.

Pervigilium is the second volume in the Sovereign Citizen series. It is a bridge between the story of a lone survivor after a global disappearance of all people and the rebirth of civilization, one where humans serve no purpose unless he can find one.
