The first publication in the series Advances in Psychological Research in India under the publication programme of the centre of Advanced Study in Psychology, Utkal University, this book documents a cross-section of contemporary psychological research in India. It shows a definite trend in psychological researches towards study of Indian social issues. The book reflects a common concern for social development in all the contributions. The chapters are devoted to some specific aspects of applied social psychology, organizational behaviour, clinical psychology, educational and developmental psychology and comparative psychology with an applied focus. In this volume some very senior as well as young psychologists have contributed towards understanding of the Indian psychological perspective, through a variety of specific themes ranging from Prof. Durganand Sinha's I analysis of the Psyche of Indian people to the faminist issue in mental health, intergroup relations, and quality of work life, etc.
