When Prince Alexander and his sisters, the Princesses Harper, Hattie, Maren, and Mill grow tired of being confined to the castle, their adventurous natures inspire them to plan an escape for a day of adventure. All is well until the four princesses are taken by a purple ogre named Periwinkle. With the help of two of the bravest knights in the kingdom, Prince Alexander sets out to rescue his sisters. Periwinkle's mother wants to make the girls cry as part of a potion she is creating. The girls try to unravel the mystery of why the ogress is determined to have her purple son turn green.
