Black history is incredibly rich and has made an impact not only in America but throughout the world. People to Know in Black History & Beyond (Vol. 3) offers you an edited glimpse of the fathomless contributions of those who have enriched our history. The featured contributions (beginning in the 18th century) presented in Doctor Bob Lee's 'People to Know' book series is merely a token of the information that has been written and published to give credence to those Black people who have sacrificed their lives and livelihoods. The iconic figures responsible for the countless positive contributions to Black history range from change-making civil rights leaders and activists, essential inventors and scientists, amazing educators and students, heroic military notables, award-winning athletes, world-renowned authors and publishers, and showstopping entertainers. There are people who acknowledge the stark racial disparities that have persisted in the United States despite decades of civil rights reforms, and they raise structural questions about how racist hierarchies are enforced, even among people with good intentions.
