Penny's Story

Set in 1911, a story of adventure and belonging



Twelve-year old Penny always thought she was an orphan. Then one day, a stranger comes to the house in Boston where she's the upstairs maid. Penny finds out that she has a mother, who is very ill - and a father, a man named Dr. James Lowell who lives in Montana.



When trouble starts brewing, Penny decides she needs to find her father. With her new friend Winslow by her side, Penny "rides the rails" in an adventure that takes her across the country. But when she gets there, will she ever really belong?
