Born Sanford Cohen, the poet renamed himself Rosé when he began performing as a stand-up poet and storyteller in the tradition of the ultra-hip Lord Buckley, harking back to the oral roots of epic poetry. Rosé received his BS from City College and studied Classical Greek in the Masters Program at Columbia University, NY. He traveled widely in North Africa and Latin America, independently pursuing linguistic and poetic studies. Since 1979, Rosé has appeared at dozens of diverse venues from the Museum of Rock Art, in Los Angeles, CA to the United Nations in New York City. He is the author of Poetraits , Synergetic Press, Santa Fe, NM.
